Kindergarten Readiness-What your preschooler needs to know

Our main purpose in having our children go through preschool, is to prepare them for the next step: Kindergarten. Many parents are choosing to preschool their children at home. While this is certainly a fun-filled adventure, it is also a time of angst for some of us. We wonder if we are giving our children the foundation they need for future success.

In preparing our preschoolers for homeschool over the years, I have developed a checklist of skills that I look for to determine if they are ready to move on to Kindergarten work. This list focuses on specific academic achievements necessary for success in Kindergarten.

  8. Beginning Sight Words
